Photo Dump, Lots of Love and Resolutions

First we had a baby shower for the lovely Elizabeth.
It was sweet, despite occurring during a hurricane and lots of work friends came over.
Despite many of us having a camera, we didn't snap too many pictures.

My best helper, he even went to Kroger in a hurricane for me.
Get it, I marked it with a "B".  For Balthazar or from the rhyme..."put it in the oven and mark it with a B".

Laura G brought baby Emma

We also updated the guest room!

My sweet family gave me lots of seafood so we had a little feast with some friends from church.

Last weekend we went to Cville for a wedding.  It was absolutely beautiful and we caught up with good friends.
I don't know how to work the camera, hence to super close up.

Katie Beth was absolutely lovely and so were the sweet nursing school girls who were there too.
The inn where the got married had breathtaking views.

The next day we went apple picking.

This last picture is very eye opening.  I look frumpy and dumpy and unhealthy.  Since this picture was taken on Sunday, I've walked 10 miles and have kept a calorie count journal.  I'm determined to make sure this is my "before" picture.

Staycation Decoration

In celebration of my aging (I turned 24 on Sunday), Chad and I both had off Monday-Wednesday.

We went to Virginia for a cookout on Sunday and got to visit my Aunt's charming gift shop.  Shore folks: Check out Terri's Thrift and Gift located on Sunnyside Rd. in Cheriton.

We snagged these mirrors for $5.  (Ok, so my grandma wouldn't let me pay, but they were $5 for the rest of the world).

And I used my limited decorating ability to turn them in to this:
Painting something turquoise...never saw that coming.

Chad solidified his title as Husband of the YEAR by painting our entire hallway both upstairs and down and the remaining wall of our living room featured below.  Mmmmmm familiar beige-how warm and neutral you are.  I attempted to help but I'm a bad painter....a very bad painter.  Instead I made delicious healthy meals and cleaned....and watched Army Wives on netflix...to be equally as productive as my man.

Speaking of my man-he also built me a SHELF!

Yes the picture frames are still empty but we have prints on their way from Shutterfly and the tags are still on the brown bins because I wasn't sure if I liked them or not but I think they'll be staying.

We also had some dinner guests over so I took it as the perfect opportunity to set the table with fancy centerpieces.
The hurricanes were a wedding present (Thanks Alexander) and the fish bowl was a left over wedding decoration.  The shells were from Dollar Tree  (Can I get a woot woot!  -Maybe from Beth? Ellen?)

And a small adjustment that made a sweet improvement!
We added flowers to our jars on the mantle:

Sorry for the super boring post but I promised my momma I would send her some pictures and I couldn't add commentary in e-mail and because she is a master decorator and I wanna be like her when I grow up.  :)

Some Progress

We're getting settled and a few people have asked to see some pics :)

The guest room is all ready for guests :)
Anyone have cute ideas for what to put on the built-ins?

 Master bedroom!
This is to show you the accent wall.  Notice that red wad of fabric in the floor?  Those will be our curtains as soon as we buy curtain rods.
Bright and sunny kitchen :)  Those chickies in the window are from my momma.

Now turn your head to the side to see the dining nook.  Anyone know how to change the orientation of pics?

The nook flows right in to the den.

Thanks to my #1 Sister-in-law for the sweet framed pic from our honeymoon.
 Fire place :)

I got those pillows off the clearance rack at BB and B for 1/2 price plus I had a 20% off coupon :)
Same story with this guy!  I asked Chad before I brought really flowery pillows home.

That's what we've got so far :)  I hope you all are having a fabulous day!
